Employment History:

June 2008 – Present: Broadcast Systems Engineer

Woking in Coding and Multiplexing, where all BBC content is encoded for DTT and DSAT broadcasting before being sent to distribution companies for up-link and transmission. Position involves maintaining on-air services 24/7, learning to use and operate new systems as they are implemented, working on projects, preventative maintenance of systems, assisting in transition to new property and implementation of Centralised Coding and Multiplexing system, assisting with Digital Switchover UK (DSO) as different regions go live including the Freeview HD services.

September 2007 – March 2008: Senior Sound Technician, Ocean Village 2 Cruise Ship (Mediterranean and Caribbean)

Operating and engineering theatrical shows 7 days a week in 4 venues onboard a cruise ship, assisting in resolving technical and production issues for performances ranging from comedy, to tribute acts and stage musicals. I also supervised the use and installation of equipment throughout all the venues to a high standard during my 6 month contract.

 

January 2007 – April 2007: Broadcast Maintenance Engineer for Sky Channel, Australia

Working within the Engineering department ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of this large sporting television station performing tasks such as preventative maintenance, repairs, installations and ISDN link-ups.

September 2005 - August 2006: Senior Broadcast Engineer at The Greater London Authority .

Home to the Mayor of London and The Greater London Assembly. Responsible for all broadcasts from building, distributing signals to BBC, BSKYB and BT Tower, training new recruits, filming and broadcast of Press Conferences, racking, directing and remote camera work in galleries for coverage of Press Conferences and large committee meetings, web casting, AV systems in the whole building, and all broadcast engineering issues.
